The New Jersey Devils opened their season with a 3-0 loss to Philadelphia, and did the Devils learn from that? We’ll probably find out tonight, as they face a Kings team that has essentially been molded in the image of the Flyers. The Devils rebounded from their loss in the opener with a 4-2 victory over Carolina on Monday, and this morning first-year coach Peter DeBoer was asked for his thoughts on facing the Kings…
DEBOER: “For me, they present a lot of the same challenges Philly presents. A big, dynamic group of forwards that really play a hard game. Obviously any defense that includes Drew Doughty gives you a lot of problems, both on the rush and in the offensive zone. They’re going to be a tough team to handle. There’s a reason they’re one of the favorites this year. So it will be a great test for us.’’
