Drew Doughty’s postgame thoughts…
(on trying to handle the Sabres…)
DOUGHTY: “They were a fast team. We knew they were going to be a good team, at the same time. They were hard on the forecheck. They’re really well-coached and they’re coached to work hard, and we knew that coming into the game, but obviously in the first period they took it to us there. At the same time, I thought that if a couple bounces went our way, we could have won that game.’’
(on splitting the games in Europe…)
DOUGHTY: “We’ve got to take away the positives. I think, in the New York Rangers game, we played a lot better game than we did here tonight. We’ve got to learn the good things we did in that game and take some of the negatives from this game and learn from them. We’re going to do that once we get back to North America, and we’ll be a lot better in the next game.’’
