Friday practice update; Murray steamed

Terry Murray said that he would “accept the decision” by the league to suspend Jarret Stoll for one game, but Murray was steamed that the league did not sususpend San Jose’s Jason Demers for his hit on Ryan Smyth. Murray called Demers’ hit “five times more severe” than Stoll’s hit. A team source said the league office reviews all such hits, and that the Kings asked the league to look at the Demers hit in particular, but no suspension was given.

Murray said Trevor Lewis would center the line with Ryan Smyth and Justin Williams, and that John Zeiler would play tomorrow. Zeiler can play center or wing, but it’s probable that he would center Alexei Ponikarovsky and Kevin Westgarth. Murray said he hadn’t yet decided. More on all this, and other notes and quotes, to come…
