They will be the centers of attention

The Kings will start tonight’s game with a center depth chart of Michal Handzus, Trevor Lewis, Jarret Stoll and Brad Richardson, going line by line. How will they end the game? Handzus is a natural to move into the top-line spot, but Terry Murray has indicated that he will keep a close eye on both Lewis and Richardson, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see both players spending time in that center spot between Ryan Smyth and Dustin Brown. “I’ll watch closely, and give them both opportunities,” Murray said after today’s morning skate. The Kings will also hope to get increased production from Handzus, who has 29 points in 75 games. Handzus had a career-high 58 points in 82 games with Philadelphia in 2003-04.

MURRAY: “When you go back through his resume, he’s had success with offensive players. He’s put up very good numbers. I did see, in Philadelphia when he was a player with the players, that he played very well in the checking and the offensive part of the game. So I think he’s very excited about it. It’s a little bit of a change of role, but he’s one of those guys who can make that adjustment.”
