Scouting the Stars

Dallas Stars center Brad Richards, an oft-discussed name leading up to last week’s trade deadline, tonight will miss his 10th consecutive game because of concussion symptoms. Richards reportedly has been skating back in Texas and is considered day-to-day. The Stars are also without defenseman Nicklas Grossman, who has a hip injury, and the status of Jamie Langenbrunner (upper-body injury) is believed to be a game-time decision. The Stars are part of the Western Conference logjam. They enter tonight’s game in seventh place, one point ahead of the Kings. After a 1-8-1 skid in February, the Stars have righted themselves and are 4-0-1 in their last five games. Their week-long Pacific Division road trip concludes tonight.
