Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
MURRAY: “The one-goal lead, going into the third period, you’re in a pretty good position against a division team. You should be able to shut that game down. We don’t manage the puck. We just make mistakes and turn the puck over. That’s something we have to clean up right away. We’ve got to get back on the right side of the game and do the right things for the 60 minutes. That’s where we talk about, `Every play is important.’ Well, it was certainly reinforced with what went on tonight.”

(on the power play…)
MURRAY: “When you give up a shorthanded goal, that was disappointing. That’s over-handling the puck and, again, not just doing the right things at the right time. We had a little bit of a difficult time getting set up. We were trying to force some plays instead of just settle it out, settle things down, make some easy plays to let everyone get calmed down and get their positions and take it from there. We’re looking for that big play right away, in the early part of the game, and you end up chasing it back down the ice and it becomes a frustrating part of the game, after you make those decisions.”

(on Bernier’s game…)
MURRAY: “Bernier played good. He made some big stops in traffic. They’ve got some skilled players who made things happen by the net. I thought his game was good. The goals that were scored were other parts of the game. He had no chance on some of them. He had a couple other challenging plays he made big stops on, so he had a good game.”
