Those guys look sort of familiar…

If it seems as though it’s been months since the Kings played the Vancouver Canucks, well, it has been months. The teams played twice in the first week of the season — the Kings won 2-1 in a shootout at Vancouver and 4-1 at home — but haven’t faced off since Oct. 15. The Canucks, fueled by a 13-0-2 run from mid-December to mid-January, surged to the top of the Western Conference standings and have a giant 14-point lead over second-place Calgary in the Northwest Division. The key parts — Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Ryan Kesler, Roberto Luongo, etc. — are still in place, but the Canucks have a bit of a different look than they did in October, which means Terry Murray was likely to spend a big chunk of today watching video…

MURRAY: “I really haven’t watched them a lot. We just get so busy with our own scheduling. They’re one of the elite teams in the game, there’s no question about that. They’re built for right now, with the additions they made during the summer and now, at the trade deadline. Actually, I was probably a little surprised that they made any moves at the deadline, because they’re set up so well. We’re going to have to play very well and be on our `A’ game tomorrow, for sure.”
