No chemistry experiments in Columbus

As noted earlier, the Kings aren’t expected to make any lineup changes for tomorrow’s game. Why? Terry Murray kept it pretty basic. After weekend wins in Washington and Philadelphia, Murray said he doesn’t want to mess with a winning formula right now…

MURRAY: “Same lineup tomorrow. Quick is in net. I can’t change the lineup, based on what we’ve seen in the last couple games. The team has played very hard, with great spirit on the bench and in the locker room. Coming away with four points in buildings like that is a real good team effort. So I’m not going to mess with the chemistry on that one.”

As a follow-up, Murray was asked what, specifically, about the last two games had impressed him the most…

MURRAY: “I kind of have to lump a couple things in there. You talk about spirit and compete attitude. There was very good structure and execution in those two games. I thought we had nice looks in the offensive part of the game, but certainly the game in Philadelphia, I really liked our recovery and our D-zone play. It was closing fast. There was good physical play. There was pinning and sealing. The reads were excellent because of the activity that they showed off the puck. They had defensemen pinching and a lot of cycling, coming with five guys, and you have to make an incredible amount of reads in a matter of a couple seconds, to read the correct coverage. I thought we were in a very good system with it. That’s a small number of things, but very important things.”
