Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
MURRAY: “Both teams played hard. There was lots of tempo and pace to the game. Both teams, i thought, generated some good chances and both teams played well defensively. It was a pretty entertaining game for the fans.”
(on the game-winning goal…)
MURRAY: “That’s just a shot from the boards. That’s a play that you’ve got to have, 100 percent of the time. It just found its way through.”
(on Quick’s game, otherwise…)
MURRAY: “Quick played well tonight. Again, we had a lot of pressure on us in the early going, with the 5-on-3. That’s a great play. Give the guy a mark for making that kind of a pass. But we had some big stops from Quicker. He held his ground. He was real solid in his game.”
(on Greene’s shot, that led to the goal…)
MURRAY: “He doesn’t have any hesitation in his thought process, when the puck comes up top to him. He wants to get it to the net. The way the game is today, you’ve got to bring a lot of shots from the blue line and hope for second and third opportunities.”
(on giving away points in the standings in January…)
MURRAY: “It’s a fact. We will have to (make them up later). But the thing that I want to take back here, after these two games and certainly the one here today, is that you stay with the same thought process. The guys played hard here today. They played a good road game. You’d like to get a couple points, or a point, out of it. We didn’t, but we’ve got to bring it back home and win some games now.”
(on the poor penalties…)
MURRAY: “It’s like last night. You get a couple penalties over the glass and then another reaching in. You just can’t take those penalties. It’s a critical time of the year. The points are so big. And the retaliation, the undisciplined play there by Doughty too, to retaliate about 30 seconds after a hit, you can’t do those things in a 1-1 game.”
