The third period was tight and scoreless until the Blues took the lead with 6:47 remaining. Erik Johnson held the puck near the top of the right circle and flipped a relatively harmless looking wrist shot on net. Quick made the stop, but couldn’t hold the puck as it trickled behind him and over the line to give the Blues a 2-1 lead.
