The Oilers failed to score on an early power play, but took a 1-0 lead 6:02 into the first period. Dustin Penner took a pass from Ales Hemsky and took the puck to the net. Penner faked a move to the back of the net, and when Bernier moved to his left, Penner tucked the puck into the corner of the net.
