Postgame notes (Jan. 10)

Some notes from last night’s game…

— The Kings lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Monday night, their sixth loss in their last seven games and their fifth loss in six games on this season-long eight-game homestand.

— The Kings have been outscored 24-17 in this homestand, including 18-11 at even strength.

— After an 11-2-0 start to the season at home, the Kings are now 3-5-1 in their last nine home games.

— The Kings went 0-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill. The Kings had scored at least one power-play goal in five of their previous six games. The one power play against the Kings was the lowest total this season. The Kings had to kill two penalties in five games this season.

— The Kings are now 9-6-1 in one-goal games, but have a 4-6-1 record in their last 11 one-goal games. The Kings are now 18-7-0 when scoring first, but are 1-4-0 in their last five games when scoring first. The Kings are now 10-2-0 when leading after the first period.

— The Kings outshot the Maple Leafs 32-28, including 17-11 in the third period. Those 17 shots were the most the Kings have recorded a single period this season. The Kings twice have had 16 shots on goal in one period this season.

— The Maple Leafs were credited with 17 blocked shots, to the Kings’ six blocked shots. The Maple Leafs were credited with 45 hits, to the Kings’ 26 hits.

— Jonathan Quick allowed three goals on 28 shots. After a 14-5-0 start, Quick has a 5-6-1 record in his last 12 games.

— Wayne Simmonds had one goal, his ninth of the season. Simmonds had gone seven consecutive games without a point.

— Michal Handzus had one goal, his sixth of the season. Handzus has two goals in his last four games.

— Rob Scuderi had one assist. Scuderi now has 10 assists in 42 games, five short of the career-high he had with Pittsburgh in 2008-09.

— Jarret Stoll had one assist. Stoll has three goals and one assist in his last three games.

— Alec Martinez had one assist. Martinez has three assists in his last four games.

— Ryan Smyth had one assist. Smyth has three goals and three assists in his last four games.

— Jarret Stoll was credited with a team-high five shots on goal. Dustin Brown was credited with a game-high eight hits. Six Kings were credited with one blocked shot each.

— Drew Doughty played a game-high 26 minutes, 55 seconds. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards in ice time at 24:29.

— The Kings won 29 of 56 faceoffs (52 percent). Michal Handzus won 11 of 19 draws (58 percent).
