Williams postgame quotes

Justin Williams’ postgame thoughts…

(on Chicago’s winning goal, and the game…)
WILLIAMS: “It was an unfortunate goal. Yeah, it certainly was, but it wasn’t a crusher. We still had time to come back. We still had five minutes left to make something happen, and we didn’t. The second period was probably the key. Even though we came away with a tie after two periods, we still lost a little bit of momentum there. We didn’t finish the game off. We didn’t go hard the whole way through. Obviously, I put a snag in things, taking the late penalty. That obviously never helps. But all in all, we just need to right the ship.”

(on the first period tied, instead of in the Kings’ favor…)
WILLIAMS: “It could have been. That is hockey. It certainly is. (The winning goal) could have not bounced over the net and could have not gone off his shin pad, but it did. We’ve got to battle through. We’ve got to work through. The next win, after a slump, is always the hardest. We’ve got some games at home here to get it turned around, and we’ve got to do that.”

(on being swept by Chicago…)
WILLIAMS: “They’ve obviously had our number this year. They buckled down and won the tight games against us. We’re not far off. The tight games, we’re going to find a way to win them. I know we are. We have the team in here to do it. Learning, learning, learning. That’s what we’re doing right now. One day we’re going to come out on top, and we’re just going to keep going.”
