Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
MURRAY: It was a competitive game. The Blues, they played a competitive game. It gets to a tie game, and we had a breakdown off of a faceoff loss in the offensive zone. It came down to that one play, when you look at it, at a 4-4 game in the third period. We just lost our assignments.”
(on not capitalizing against a injured Blues team…)
MURRAY: “Injuries, please. We all have injuries. Everybody in the league has lots of injuries.”
(on if he saw what he expected from the Blues…)
MURRAY: `They’re a competitive hockey club. Lots of young guys and lots of energy. We’ve had some real good games in the last couple years, and you expect that, absolutely. You come back home after a loss like that [the Blues’ loss in Detroit] and all of us go through it. You’re going to come out and try to play your best, with lots of compete for your home fans.”
(on not capitalizing on the tying goals…)
MURRAY: “There was some good momentum. We had some good things going in the third period, before they ended up scoring that winning goal. I thought there were four or five shifts that were really good, lots of things happening around the net. We had a couple grade-A scoring opportunities and didn’t finish, and they come down in the end, off a faceoff, and they take advantage of their opportunity.”
