Same look on defense - LA Kings Insider

After today’s practice, Terry Murray said he intends to use the same defensive lineup against Calgary on Thursday that he used against Detroit on Saturday. That means Rob Scuderi paired with Drew Doughty, Peter Harrold paired with Jack Johnson and Alec Martinez paired with Matt Greene. That leaves Davis Drewiske on the outside looking in. Drewiske played the Detroit game, briefly, as a fourth-line left winger, but Murray is unlikely to use that look again, and is almost certain to go with a fourth line of Kyle Clifford, Brad Richardson and either Kevin Westgarth or John Zeiler. Today, Murray talked a bit about some of his lineup choices…

MURRAY: “In the last game, I used the fourth line very sparingly. I knew the schedule was going to give us this break, so just load up on your big guys and let them carry the ball. I’m going to stay with the defense the way it is right now, the six guys that were in the lineup, with (Willie) Mitchell still being out. I’m going to stay with those guys. I like what I’m seeing. We’ll just keep them ready and keep them going, and if I have to use (Drewiske) as a forward, I think there’s no issue there. He’s a defenseman and wants to play as a defenseman, but right now I’m just going to ride those guys the way it’s set up.”
