Injury updates

Willie Mitchell (broken wrist) and Alexei Ponikarovsky (broken finger) both skated before practice today, and both will be looking to get good news from the doctor soon. Terry Murray said today that Ponikarovsky will go for another x-ray tomorrow, and hopes to get fitted with a softer cast, and that Mitchell will have an x-ray done next Monday. Both players have now been out of the lineup for three weeks. The initial estimates had Ponikarovksy being out approximately four weeks, and Mitchell being out approximately four to six weeks, so those estimates appear to be holding up. Assuming both players can continue to skate, and keep their conditioning levels up, they should be able to play fairly soon after getting medical clearance.
