Postgame notes (Nov. 13)

Some notes from last night’s game…

— The Kings got two goals from Anze Kopitar and one each from Justin Williams, Dustin Brown and Drew Doughty as they beat the New York Islanders 5-1 on Saturday night to extend their winning streak to six games.

— At 12-3-0, the Kings have their best record, after 15 games, in franchise history, and also the most points (24) after 15 games. The previous high was set by the 1980-81 team, which started 11-3-1.

— The Kings improved to 8-0-0 at home, setting the franchise record for most consecutive home wins to start a season.

— The Kings swept their five-game homestand and outscored opponents 16-4.

— The Kings went 5-for-5 on the penalty kill and have now killed 22 consecutive penalties. They also remain perfect (31-for-31) on the penalty kill at home, the only NHL team not to allow a power-play goal at home this season.

— The Kings went 1-for-4 on the power play and improved to 15th in the NHL in power-play percentage (16.4).

— Jonathan Quick stopped 18 shots for the victory and has a personal 10-1-0 record this season. At home, Quick is 6-0-0 and has yet to allow more than one goal in a home game. Quick lowered his goals-against average to 1.52 and maintained his save percentage at .944.

— Justin Williams scored a goal and is tied with Dustin Brown for the team high with eight goals. Williams has recorded at least one point in nine consecutive games (six goals, five assists), which ties his career-best point streak.

— Anze Kopitar had two goals and one assist for his first three-point game of the season. Throughout Kopitar’s career, the Kings have a 64-27-10 record when he scores a goal.

— Dustin Brown scored a goal and now has a goal in three consecutive games.

— Jack Johnson recorded two assists and has one goal and 11 assists in his last nine games.

— Drew Doughty recorded his first goal of the season.

— Jarret Stoll had an assist and has two goals and six assists and his last six games.

— Scott Parse had an assist and has recorded an assist in three consecutive games.

— The Kings have now scored the first goal in a game nine times this season, and they are 9-0-0 in those games. They are 3-3-0 when allowing the first goal of a game.

— The Kings outshot the Islanders 34-19, including 13-3 in the third period.

— Anze Kopitar recorded a game-high six shots on goal. Dustin Brown was credited with five hits and Matt Greene, Jack Johnson and Davis Drewiske each had two blocked shots.

— The Kings won 23 of 67 faceoffs (34 percent).

— Drew Doughty played a team-high 23 minutes, 39 seconds. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards at 18:39.
