The Stars tied the game with 2:56 remaining in the first period. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty tried to chase down a puck in the defensive zone, but Dallas’ Jamie Benn chipped it away from Doughty, picked it up and beat Quick from close range to make it 1-1.
