Things were going well for the Kings in the first period…until they went on a five-minute power play. The Kings were arguably getting the better of the offensive chances when Tampa Bay’s Mattias Ohlund dumped Dustin Brown into the boards on an ugly play and got a five-minute boarding penalty. The Kings managed only two shots on goal and perhaps zero quality scoring chances. Shots were 9-9 in the period.
