Some notes from last night’s game…
— The Kings got a game-tying goal from Justin Williams midway through the first period, but otherwise couldn’t convert and lost to Chicago 3-1.
— The Kings outshot the Blackhawks 34-28, including 15-8 in the third period. The Kings have now recorded at least 30 shots on goal in four consecutive games and in six of their nine games this season. Last season, the Kings reached the 30-shot plateau 37 times in 82 games.
— The Kings went 0-for-2 on the power play — recording only two shots on goal — and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. The Kings have been perfect on the penalty kill six of their nine games this season.
— Jonathan Bernier allowed three goals on 28 shots and saw his personal record fall to 1-2.
— Justin Williams scored the Kings’ lone goal, his third of the season. Williams now has three goals and five assists in nine games and has recorded at least one point in six of his last seven games.
— Davis Drewiske got his second assist of the season and Peter Harrold got his first point of the season with an assist.
— Jack Johnson played a game-high 28 minutes, 26 seconds. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards in ice time at 19:55.
— Alexei Ponikarovksy had a team-high five shots on goal. Four Kings were credited with four hits each. Jack Johnson, Dustin Brown and Davis Drewiske each had three blocked shots.
— The Kings won 30 of 55 faceoffs (55 percent). Jarret Stoll won 12 of 17 draws (71 percent).
— The Kings are now 2-3-0 when trailing after two periods and 2-0-0 when leading after two periods.
