Given last night’s 2:30 a.m. arrival in St. Paul, and the impending three games in four nights (again), the Kings got the day off from coach Terry Murray today. The team arrived to a torrential downpour and lightning storm last night, but it’s actually pleasant today in the Twin Cities.
No news today on whether Wayne Simmonds will face any additional discipline for his “butt-ending” penalty in the third period last night. Asked by the Denver Post what might have led to the incident, Colorado’s TJ Galiardi said, “I have no idea,” then added, of the apparent groin shot, “You get hit there, you go down. I know he’s not that kind of player, but it (stinks).” I’d say there’s less than a 50-50 chance of a suspension given that similar incidents have gone unpunished and that Galiardi was not injured. We’ll see…
