Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

—–

Question: Feel good to get past the preseason now?

MURRAY: “I think everybody around the league is sighing a little bit of relief that it’s over and that the real stuff starts. I feel good about our camp, really good. The hard work was put in. The games were intense. They were with structure and system, and everyone paid attention and did a lot of good things out there. We played a lot of young players in critical situations, important situations, and I was real pleased with how they performed. So it gets down to decision time, and it’s time to meet with management and talk about it.”

Question: When you look at the two young centers (Loktionov and Schenn), how close is that? How hard will it be to choose between them? Or is there a way to keep both?

MURRAY: “I don’t think so. Both played so well. When I see Loktionov out there on the power play, the first power play that we had, entering the zone, he’s just so deceptive. He’s a very instinctive, naturally skilled player. It’s great to have that kind of a player in a special-teams situation. On the other side, you have Schenn, who can play that kind of a game and he gives you a little bit more of an edge. So, 19, 20 years old. It’s pretty nice to have those guys in the organization, with the potential they have.”

Question: What about Parse? Is there a chance he might start on injured reserve?

MURRAY: “I don’t know that answer. But if you do put him on IR, it goes back effective to the time he got hurt, so if he was healthy tomorrow, he could get right back into the lineup and start to go. So that might be a way to go.”
