Two prospects, defenseman Niclas Andersen and forward Geordie Wudrick, are no longer a part of the Kings’ organization. The Kings did not sign either player by the June 1 deadline, meaning that Andersen becomes a free agent and Wudrick will be eligible to be drafted again this month.
Andersen, 22, was a fourth-round pick of the Kings in 2006 but has yet to play in North America. Last season, he had three goals and three assists in 42 games while playing in the Swedish Elite League. Wudrick, a 20, was a third-round pick of the Kings in 2008. Last season, in the junior-level Western Hockey League, he split his season between Swift Current and Kelowna and totaled 27 goals and 21 assists in 62 games.
