Kings winger Rich Clune left the ice, seemingly in significant pain, after his third-period fight with Rick Rypien last night. Clune did not practice today, and Terry Murray said that Clune had suffered a stinger, which is essentially a pinched nerve in the neck.
MURRAY: “ I don’t know how long. He certainly will be out tomorrow. There’s nothing structurally wrong. There’s no injury that I’m going to hide on you on this one. In the NFL, in football, they call it a `stinger.’ So it just needs to calm down, and it takes a few days for that to happen.”
Murray did not name his fourth line, but did say that Justin Williams will play, and it’s fairly obvious that Jeff Halpern will center the line, so either Scott Parse or Raitis Ivanans will play on the left side in Game 6.
On the other side, Daniel Sedin did not practice today — he took a slash to the ankle last night, reports say — but is expected to play in Game 6.
