It was quite a night for Michal Handzus, who scored two-power-play goals, had one assist, played 17:31 (third-most minutes among forwards), including 1:50 on the power play and 2:13 shorthanded (both most among forwards), had four shots on goal, one blocked shot and was credited with three takeaways. Surprisingly, the only thing Handzus didn’t do well was win faceoffs (5 of 19), but then Kings in general only won 36 percent, so he was far from alone. Here’s what Terry Murray had to say about Handzus’ game…
MURRAY: “An outstanding game. That’s his strength. That’s his game. He digs in, in those situations. He loves the challenge. He knows, before the game, what his role is going to be and he has played it for many years. He’s a good shut-down player, a really strong and heavy guy, a great penalty killer and tonight he got a couple power-play goals. He had an outstanding game.”
