Alain Vigneault’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
VIGNEAULT: “It was two teams out there battling really hard. Every inch of the ice has to be earned. I thought that both teams played really well and it was a great game and we got it done in overtime.”
(on Luongo’s overtime save…)
VIGNEAULT: “Well, he didn’t have a lot of work in the third, and he had one save to make in that overtime and he made the save. That’s what we need from him, and his teammates were able to reward him with that strong overtime goal.”
(on Samuelsson’s play…)
VIGNEAULT: “I thought he played a strong game. He got some quality chances, obviously. He scored a big goal, and hopefully that experience and that `seizing the moment’ is going to rub off on some other guys on our team. I thought Alex Edler, tonight, had a real strong game, one of his best games at both ends of the rink this year. That’s what teams have to do in the playoffs. You have to get better every game, and that’s what we’re going to work on tomorrow.”
