Justin Williams’ postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
WILLIAMS: “Granted, early on we didn’t play great. I felt like they got a few breaks on their goals, which gave them some momentum, scoring the power-play goal. The shots were low, but their scoring chances were right around where their shots on goal were. So it’s a little deceiving, in that they had a lot of good scoring chances but not a lot of shots. I think, as the game wore on, our confidence was just growing and growing and growing. It’s really good, between the second and third period, when you’re down and the team is still upbeat and believes that they can come back. That’s what we had tonight. We just knew it was going to come.”
(on his recent strong play…)
WILLIAMS: “For me to be successful, I’ve got to have the puck and control the puck as much as I can. That makes me more comfortable out there, holding onto the puck, making plays and not simply just dumping it in when I feel pressure. Just having the confidence to make plays out there, I’m starting to get that again.”
