The Kings took a two-goal lead with 3:59 remaining in the first period. Ryan Smyth worked the puck out of the corner in the Vancouver zone, and Jack Johnson took a shot from the point. Luongo made the save, but Anze Kopitar was alone in front of the net to pick up the rebound and score from close range. Kopitar tied his career high with his 77th point of the season.
