Stat-geek morning

For those of us who like to go inside the numbers… Drew Doughty played a team-high 29 minutes, 18 seconds last night. Ryan Smyth led all forwards at 20:23 and had a team-high five shots on goal. Anze Kopitar played 20:21 and Alexander Frolov played 18:14 and, by the end of the third period, was playing on the top line with Kopitar.

In unrelated news, the NHL players’ association has approved immediate supplemental discipline for hits to the head. On-ice penalties (minors and/or majors) have not been established, but that is likely to happen by the start of next season.
