The Blackhawks outshot the Kings 9-0 in the first eight-plus minutes of the second period, and took the lead with 8:24 remaining in the period. Patrick Kane took the puck to the net, and Quick made the stop but was unable to cover it and the Kings were unable to clear. After a scramble in front, Troy Brouwer found the loose puck and beat Quick.
