Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the Kings’ struggles against Nashville…)
BROWN: “They’re a pretty solid team. Tonight — I shouldn’t say just tonight — but they play a good, solid team game and they come very consistently, shift after shift. That’s the difference right now. When we play them, we have a (good) shift here and there, but when you have a team that plays that consistently, you can’t have shifts off.”
(on whether the ref explained the non-call on Quick…)
BROWN: “The explanation was that they saw the loose puck on the side of the net but they weren’t looking at the goalie. That’s all they said.”
(on the Smyth interference call…)
BROWN: “I’m more frustrated with the call at our end. The puck is sitting two feet away from our goalie and he doesn’t see our goalie getting plowed out of the net. I’m sure it wasn’t `plowed,’ but his stick definitely made contact with the far pad and pulled him off. That’s one of those things where we had to respond after that, and we didn’t.”
