Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
KOPITAR: “Our intensity and our compete level has to be a lot higher that that. We didn’t show up. That’s the bottom line. We got the first goal and instead of building on that, we sat back and they kept coming. That was the game. Yeah we scored that goal in the third to make it close, but Quickie kept us in the game. If he wasn’t standing on his head, it would be easily five or six (goals). We’ve just got to forget this one. I’m sure the coaches are going to have the video and everything, but forget this one and go ahead and play like we did before.”
(on losing momentum after giving up the first goal…)
KOPITAR: “I don’t think so. We had the lead there. It’s a little unfortunate. We had the bounce that they scored on, but that’s hockey. The bounces are going to happen. The pucks are going to jump over the stick or take a bounce off the dashers. It’s one of those deals that you have to put that behind you and play normal the rest of the way. They had the momentum and we sat back.”
