Video jinx?

First, if you need to catch up on today’s non-Kovalchuk news and notes, here’s my LAKings.com notebook…

Kings notebook (Feb. 4)

Second, here’s a bonus quote from Terry Murray, about the state of the rivalry between the Kings and Ducks…

MURRAY: “I think a rivalry is in place. It just needs to get heated up. The only way those things get heated up, in my opinion, is to get a couple playoff series against each other. It would be great for California, for the area, for the youth hockey, for kids who watch and maybe want to become hockey players some day. The intensity of it, the compete, it would have a very positive effect on the youth hockey programs around here. … You’re going to play intense regular-season games against each other, no matter what the circumstances are, when you’re this close. But there’s nothing like a couple playoff rounds to be able to really heat things up and have that competitiveness in every game that you play. I look forward to that.”

Finally, do you believe in jinxes? I don’t, really, but the Kings put together this sharp video for the website today, and based on pregame run-throughs here, it seems that they plan to put it on the screen before the players hit the ice. Tempting the hockey gods?
