Simmonds postgame quotes

My apologies…not sure what happened with the blog after the game. Like you, I couldn’t see it or access it. Up and running…

Wayne Simmonds’ postgame thoughts…

(on the tying goal…)
SIMMONDS: “I came on, and Richardson just hit me. I saw Smytty and Smytty, like he does always, just parked himself right in front of the net. I threw it at the net, just hoping he would get a tip or have a great screen, and he did. He had a great screen, and Brodeur pulled off the post a little, and it just squeaked in.”

(To finish 5-0 on the trip, instead of 4-1…)
SIMMONDS: “5-0 is something different, especially to get the wins off back-to-back nights. I think the boys were a little bit tired in the first period, and I think we showed it. We made a couple mistakes and they capitalized on it, but I know we came back strong.”

(on going into the third period down one, instead of two…)
SIMMONDS: “Oh, that makes a world of a difference. We got that goal with 30 seconds left in the second period, and I think that helped us carry the momentum over to the third. We came out and we didn’t have any results right at the beginning of the third, but Quickie kept us in there too. I can’t say enough about him. We just battled back.”
