Anze Kopitar postgame thoughts…
(on whether he played, or improvised, his shootout goal…)
KOPITAR: “I had it in my head the whole way. Just two weeks ago, or maybe not even two weeks, we got into a shootout with those guys. I was kind of thinking he was going to wait for my backhand. I figured I would change it up a little bit and it worked for me.”
(on whether the Kings stole the second point tonight…)
KOPITAR: “Uh, yeah. Uh…mayb…yeah. A little bit. It wasn’t a full robbery, but it was a little steal. We got caught back on our heels in the second period. They were pressing hard and we were taking penalties, unnecessary penalties. They’re a good team. They have some very skilled players, and they’re going to make plays. We’re fortunate that, tonight, our power play came through. It was good. In the shootout, we were going for that extra point, and Stolly snapped it.”
(on the 4-0 road trip so far…)
KOPITAR: “Yeah, it’s pretty good, but we want to finish it off strong. I think our thoughts are already with tomorrow’s game. What happened here happened, and we’ve got to put this behind us and go for tomorrow.”
