A chance for Jones

After four games as a healthy scratch, defenseman Randy Jones goes back into the Kings’ lineup tonight in place of the injured Jack Johnson. It’s been an up-and-down season for Jones, who was claimed off waivers from Philadelphia in October and had a good start, with four points in his first four games. Jones missed more than three weeks, though, in December and January because of head and neck issues, and hasn’t quite been the same since his return. Jones has one point (a goal) in his last five games. Here’s what Terry Murray said he would like to see from Jones tonight…

MURRAY: “What I’d like, what we need, is the game that he showed us often. His alert play, his anticipation. He has good puck skills. He can jump on pucks and carry it out of danger, out of trouble, in our own end and make a good first pass. The other part of it, that we’ve seen a few times and that I’ve known him to be, is the guy who jumps up in the second part of the attack.”
