The Kings took a two-goal lead with 4:14 remaining in the second period. Wayne Simmonds made a long pass to Ryan Smyth, who waited for Anze Kopitar and dropped a short pass. Kopitar held the puck and flipped a wrist shot to the far top corner to beat Mason. The goal was the 100th of Kopitar’s career.
