Kopitar Heating Up

And, to finish up DoughtyFest ’10, here are a couple answers from Terry Murray about Drew Doughty from local reporters, first about Doughty’s humble nature and then about his chances of becoming an all-time great defenseman…

MURRAY: “That’s not me. I have nothing to do with that. That’s his parents. That’s growing up at home and doing things the right way. Parents have a tremendous influence in that part of it. He’s very respectful of the game. He’s very respectful of the players in the game and the history of the game, and that’s why he is what he is. You just sense that from him immediately, and that’s why he’s going to be around, as an important player and a great player for this team, for years to come.”

MURRAY: “Doughty has all the tools to be one of the great ones, not only with his skill but with his mental approach to the game. He’s got an innate sense to do things at critical times in the game. That’s what the special ones are able to do. It’s something that he has shown here, in a short period of time, and he’s going to continue to improve in that area.”
