Brown postgame quotes

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the longer-than-usual postgame meeting…)
BROWN: “Terry talked to us. Ultimately, regardless of what he said, it’s ultimately about the players buying in and playing hard, and we didn’t do it tonight. It’s disappointing when we have a chance to move up to fifth or sixth in the conference and we don’t come out and perform, we don’t come out and show up.”

(on what has been going wrong on this homestand…)
BROWN: “For me — and I obviously haven’t looked at film or anything like that — but just watching the game go on from the bench, and on the ice, our preparation and readiness in the beginning… I mean, we put ourselves in a hole. Against a team like that, it’s going to be tough to dig out. I think, if you look at our homestand here, it’s all about being ready to go, and we haven’t been.”

(on how to rectify a lack of preparation…)
BROWN: “I think part of the responsibility lies with the leadership group, but ultimately each individual has to prepare themselves. If we all prepare ourselves individually, and get ready for the game, we go out and we do our thing and we’re fine. It’s when you only have one line here, or one defensive pairing here, that are going… We had some good shifts tonight. Certain lines had good shifts tonight, and then other lines weren’t ready. There are 20 guys on this team for a reason. Everyone needs to be there and play hard. Ultimately it comes down to preparation, individually and collectively.”
