Brad Richardson’s postgame thoughts…
(on the third-period rally…)
RICHARDSON: “We knew we had to come back and get something going. Brownie scored a big goal. We were kind of flat, and Brownie scored that goal and got us going, and then luckily we were able to pull it out.”
(on whether the Kings do any scoreboard/standings watching…)
RICHARDSON: “We watch the games. We knew Detroit was playing. We didn’t really know it, but we kind of knew it. It’s going to be real tight. You know teams like Detroit are going to come on and they’re going to play well, so we have to stick with it. Every game is huge.”
(on the tight race in the West…)
RICHARDSON: “You lose one, you might be in ninth. You lose one, you might be up to seventh. You’ve just got to try to give yourself a chance. Every point is going to help. You never want to look back at the end of the year and miss by one or two points. I’ve been there, with Colorado. We missed by one point, and it’s never fun.”
(on having to rally in the third period…)
RICHARDSON: “We kind of got flat when they scored. Brownie scored that big goal, and that kind of gave us a boost and we said, `You know, we can get back in this game.’ That was kind of the turning point. We didn’t play great, late in the first and the second, but it’s a character win, to come back and win that.”
