Brown postgame quotes

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on rallying to win…)
BROWN: “Obviously it’s not the way we want to do it, but I find that with this team, I really can’t put a finger on it… I think we got away from our game in the second period. We stopped getting pucks to the net. Coming into the zone, we tried to get fancy as opposed to just chipping it and going and getting it. That was probably our lull, and you can watch it on video and you can see why things change in the game. It seems like a lot of the games lately, this year with this team, we’re down by a couple goals, we hit that 10-minute mark and then, all of a sudden — like I said, it’s hard to put a finger on it — we find a way. St. Louis, another five minutes… It was one of those games. Then tonight, it was a two-goal deficit and we found a way. Ultimately, that’s all that matters.”

(on finding a way to get two points…)
BROWN: “We’ve had both sides of the game in the last two weeks. We’ve had a game when we completely dominated and lost. Tonight, I felt we played a pretty good game in the first and third, and we found a way. Over the course of the year, a lot of those up-and-down games, or those games that you shouldn’t win but win, and vice versa, games you should win but lose, they all even out in the end. It’s just a matter of being consistent. I think every team goes through it. Tonight is probably one of those games where, if we look back at the end of the year, if we’re sitting in a playoff spot, we’ll say those (points) were huge. Or vice versa, if we’re out, that game against St. Louis…”
