They're No. 9

Detroit has defeated Carolina 3-1, so the Kings — at least temporarily — are in ninth place in the Western Conference. They need two points against the Ducks tonight to get back to No. 8. The Kings haven’t been out of the top eight at the end of  a day since Oct. 21.
