Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the physical play…)
BROWN: “They tried to get us riled and off our game. It probably started with Simmer and Getzlaf at the end of the second, then it continued on into the third.”
(on whether some of the play was dirty…)
BROWN: “It’s hard to say, really. You get into the heat of the moment and stuff happens. It was a physical game, with the intensity out there. There were probably two questionable hits, with Carter on me — and whatever, that happens in a game — but probably moreso the hit at the end of the game. It’s a 4-0 game and it’s one of those things that is kind of surprising coming from Ryan. I actually know him a little bit. He’s more laid-back, but you get into the heat of the moment and sometimes stuff happens out there.”
(on whether this was one of the most intense Kings-Ducks game…)
BROWN: “It’s definitely one of the more physical games, when it comes to the type of third period it was out there. There’s two types of games that I think about when it comes to playing Anaheim. One is like that and the other is maybe that without the penalties and it’s a 3-2 game.”
(on his goal…)
BROWN: “It felt good. Fro made a great play. For me, if I can just get to the net with my stick down, I think good things will happen obviously. I felt good out there tonight. I just tried to simplify and go to the net and, like I said, when you play with a guy like Fro, he’s going to make a play like that from time to time. That’s our system, and if I’m doing that, hopefully everyone else will follow. When you look at all our goals tonight, it was people crashing the net.”
