Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on keeping the Sharks scoreless early in the game…)
QUICK: “That was huge. They seem to always come out like that, especially in their own barn. They always come out flying. We expected that and we weathered the storm. We caught a couple power plays and we took advantage. Our power play was great all night, and our PK was great all night. We had some big goals and a great team effort.”
(on his strong play…)
QUICK: “I think the biggest thing is, when you’re playing well, you’re reading the plays well, and the D is doing a good job of letting you see the pucks, making it easier on you. When I’m playing well, it’s a reflection on the team playing well. They’re giving me a lot of help, clearing out some rebounds, and you catch a lot of luck along the way.”
(on what it means to finish 2-0-1 in San Jose…)
QUICK: “I think it means we have a good team. The Sharks are certainly one of the best teams in the league. We play them hard every team. Every game that we’ve played against them, we’ve got one point at least, if we didn’t get two. We just have to focus on taking that same mentality and applying it to every game, against every team. It doesn’t matter who we play. We just have to come out and compete.”
