Drew Doughty’s postgame thoughts…
(on what it means to finish 2-0-1 in San Jose…)
DOUGHTY: “They’re obviously one of the best teams, to be in first place in the conference. It was real important to get this win tonight. Sitting in eighth place, we either could have went out of a playoff spot or climb a couple spots. Coming in, we were really determined to win, and we did a pretty good job. I thought they played well too, but Quicker kept us in it again.”
(on the Kings’ chances of being up 6-0, considering the Sharks’ start…)
DOUGHTY: “Yeah, I don’t think too many people would have believed that. Once again, Quicker played a great game. He’s been doing that so much for us lately. Without him, we wouldn’t be winning a lot of these games. It’s really good to have a goalie hot like that, and we’re happy to have him.”
(on Ryan Smyth’s help on the power play, and the unit’s improvement…)
DOUGHTY: “Obviously, Smytty helps a ton. He stands in front of the net and he gets his stick on pretty much every shot. He’s got three goals in his last three games. He’s been doing a great job for us. I think the main thing for us is, we’re getting a lot more shots, and we’re moving the puck around a lot quicker and faster. We’re getting pucks in on the forecheck there. As long as we keep moving the puck around and getting shots, we should be fine.”
