Prospects galore

A couple notes on some guys not yet in the NHL…

— Jonathan Bernier was named yesterday to start the AHL All-Star Game, which will be played Jan. 19 in Maine. Check out that story here.

— Canada beat Slovakia 8-2 yesterday in the World Junior Championships, setting up Thursday’s game against the United States. Brayden Schenn had one goal and one assist and Brandon Kozun assisted on Schenn’s goal.

— For those looking for updates on some of the Kings’ prospects, the website hockeysfuture.com has recently put together some notes on the Kings’ minor-league and junior prospects.

— Finally, Canada’s Olympic team will be announced shortly. Right now, they’re debating on TSN whether Drew Doughty will make the team. I’ll likely be on the bus, heading to the morning skate, when the team is announced, but I’ll obviously have quotes from Doughty (and Ryan Smyth) after the skate…
