Canada 16, Latvia 0

Canada has finished putting the boots to Latvia on the first day of the World Junior Championships. Canada won 16-0, and held Latvia to 10 shots on goal. Ouch. Kings prospect Brandon Kozun had two goals and three assists, and Brayden Schenn had two assists. The star for Canada was Gabriel Bourque, with three goals and four assists. Canada scored 36 seconds into the game and never looked back. Canada goalie Jake Allen managed to stay awake for the entire game, so Kings prospect Martin Jones did not get in the game. Colten Teubert played defense for Canada but did not register a point.

Canada next plays on Monday, against Switzerland. The United States plays Slovakia today, but the Kings don’t have any prospects on Team USA.
