Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
BROWN: “It’s one of those things where everyone needs to focus on what they need to do. Short shifts are especially important after a layoff like that, and keeping it simple. Tonight, there were a couple instances when we made it really hard on ourselves. They had us in our own zone, running around, numerous times, partly because they protected the puck well, but a lot of times we had the puck originally and lost it.”
(on facing the first-period adversity…)
BROWN: “It was a long layoff and a very slow start, especially when you throw in the ceremony for Doan. Obviously with Justin going down, we kind of rallied around that. We knew he was hurt pretty badly, and I think we responded pretty well right after that. They kept on coming and we didn’t sustain that pressure. I think we got through the first period, but this is one of those times when we needed to be better.”
