Quick postgame quotes

Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…

(on the Canucks…)
QUICK: “They played a good game. They worked the cycle, and the Sedins are two of the best in the league at that cycle they do. We didn’t come out as strong as we wanted to. We didn’t play that first 20 as well as we wanted to. It’s not an easy task, coming into this rink and taking control in the first period, but you still have to compete and fight off that wave of momentum that they throw at you right at the beginning. We didn’t do a great job of handling that. We’ve got another game tomorrow, and we’ve just got to refocus and try to learn from what went wrong in this game and come up with two points tomorrow.”

(on whether Vancouver is a frustrating team to play against…)
QUICK: “Well, they have great goaltending. Luongo played a hell of a game. They have a great defensive system. They hold you to not as many scoring chances as you would like, so you have to take advantage of those opportunities when you can. Shooting against a goalie like Luongo, it’s a difficult task. As far as us not scoring goals, he’s a big reason for that. We just have to refocus and be ready for tomorrow.”

QUICK: “You can’t change up your game plan. You go into the game with a plan of what you’re going to do, and you can’t change that a minute into the game just because they scored a goal. We still tried to do what we had planned. Like I said, they played a great game and Luongo made some big saves for them.”
