Quick postgame quotes

Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts are below…

(on whether it’s more pressure to face a high number of shots…)
QUICK: “No, not really. Obviously, the less amount of pucks to net, the fewer the scoring chances, but from my perspective, you still have to make the saves in order to win the games. If it’s a couple more shots, I have to be ready for that. I wouldn’t say it’s added pressure or anything.”

(on the goals he allowed…)
QUICK: “The first one I saw. I made the save on it, but the rebound, before it even hit the ice, it just went off Tkachuk’s skate and into the net. The second one, I saw, but Boyes fanned on it and it didn’t go where he wanted it to go. The third one, it was a good play. Kariya ended up on the back door with the puck on his stick and an open net. And then the fourth one was a good screen by Backes. He’s a big body and he was doing a good job with that all night, getting in front. He’s a big body, tough to move, and it paid off there with the fourth goal.”

(on getting three out of a possible four points after two average efforts…)
QUICK: “There will be games where we will play great and we run into a hot goalie, something like that. That’s how the game is. Sometimes you won’t be playing your best hockey and you’ll get points. Sometimes you’ll be playing great hockey and you won’t get any points at all. You just have to get back to doing all the little things correctly and making sure that we bring the right mindset to the rink for practice and the games.”
